DNA computing: Molecules reach consensus.

چکیده
The intersection of computer science and molecular biology is a fertile ground for new and exciting science. Two notable examples of this are molecular computing and molecular programming. Molecular computing is the use of molecules, and typically biological molecules, to create programmable autonomous computing devices1–7. Whereas molecular programming is the use of computer programming languages to describe, simulate, analyse and even engineer the behaviour of molecular systems, and typically systems made of biological molecules8–12. Writing in Nature Nanotechnology, Georg Seelig and colleagues13 at the University of Washington, Microsoft Research in Cambridge, the California Institute of Technology and the University of California, San Francisco have now shown that the fields of molecular computing and molecular programming can join forces to create programmable chemical controllers DNA COMPUTING

Fault Tolerant DNA Computing Based on Digital Microfluidic Biochips
Historically, DNA molecules have been known as the building blocks of life, later on in 1994, Leonard Adelman introduced a technique to utilize DNA molecules for a new kind of computation. According to the massive parallelism, huge storage capacity and the ability of using the DNA molecules inside the living tissue, this type of computation is applied in many application areas such as me...
متن کاملEntropy-based Consensus for Distributed Data Clustering
The increasingly larger scale of available data and the more restrictive concerns on their privacy are some of the challenging aspects of data mining today. In this paper, Entropy-based Consensus on Cluster Centers (EC3) is introduced for clustering in distributed systems with a consideration for confidentiality of data; i.e. it is the negotiations among local cluster centers that are used in t...
متن کاملOn Two Methods for Computing the Non-Rigid Group of Molecules
In this paper, two methods are described, by means of which it is possible to calculate the non rigid group of molecules consisting of a number of XH3 groups attached to a rigid framework. The first method is a combination of the wreath product formalism of Balasubramanian and modern computer algebra and the second method is a computational approach by using group theory package GAP. We apply t...
متن کاملSIZE AND GEOMETRY OPTIMIZATION OF TRUSS STRUCTURES USING THE COMBINATION OF DNA COMPUTING ALGORITHM AND GENERALIZED CONVEX APPROXIMATION METHOD
In recent years, the optimization of truss structures has been considered due to their several applications and their simple structure and rapid analysis. DNA computing algorithm is a non-gradient-based method derived from numerical modeling of DNA-based computing performance by new computers with DNA memory known as molecular computers. DNA computing algorithm works based on collective intelli...
متن کاملEnterobacterial Repetitive Intergenic Consensus Polymerase Chain Reaction (ERIC-PCR) Genotyping of Escherichia coli Strains Isolated from Different Animal Stool Specimens
Background: Escherichia coli is a commensal-pathogenic organism, which includes a wide range of strains. Despite several advanced molecular-genomic technologies for detecting and identifying different strains of E. coli, Enterobacterial Repetitive Intergenic Consensus Polymerase Chain Reaction (ERIC-PCR) technique is ...
